Senior Flexible Solar Encapsulation Engineer
Job Description
· GroupSat Solar is seeking to fill a full time Senior Flexible Solar Cell Encapsulation Engineer position · The candidate will evaluate and implement solutions for flexible solar cell encapsulation and lifetime study of polymer encapsulation of thin film CIGS solar cells to last for 25-years in an outdoor weathering environment · Successful implementation of these solutions will require the development of an understanding of market demands, test methods, installation environments, and material characteristics
Job Responsibilities
· The successful candidate will help define the solar module encapsulation technology and strategy · Be an active member of a cross-functional international team consisting of product development, Research and Development, Technology, manufacturing, and quality · The focus is to bring flexible CIGS solar products to the market quickly in response to customer demands · Solar Energy industry is a fast-paced international industry that requires quick response to market forces · Plan, execute and perform polymer solar cell encapsulation research and development · Interface with leading companies supplying developmental or production materials that meet the requirements for long life flexible solar cell encapsulation · Understand the entire industry offering of materials for polymer solar cell encapsulation · Procure, encapsulate, test and analyze polymer materials to determine performance on thin film CIGS solar cells and modules · Setup, operate and maintain lifetime evaluation and testing of solar cell test devices · Collect, analyze and plot data and results in proper format on daily basis · Prepare technical reports, project progress reports and present progress as per the project schedule · General maintenance of laboratory and electronics equipment
Qualifications
· M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer/ Organic Chemistry ,Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or in a related discipline · Familiarity with Industry standard test methods in Solar applications · Basic understanding of material, adhesives & film processing techniques · Good communication and effective team interaction skills · Detailed and result oriented · Knowledge of end user application in Solar Industry process · Track record delivering results on complex projects · Three to five years experience in rigid and flexible electronics encapsulation · Experience on organic electronic materials and devices, polymer chemistry, device fabrication, materials characterization, and electrical testing is plus · Strong background in encapsulation materials and lamination processes · Familiarity with dry-box operation, vacuum systems, thin film deposition techniques, and polymer coating · Good written and communication skills in English · Innovative, result oriented, self motivated, ability to work independently · Experience in project work in industry environment is desired · Flexible to work in a start-up company environment |
