Microcontroller Field Applications Engineer

 Detroit, MI

The candidate will provide field technical support to automotive customers, predominantly in the area of microcontroller based embedded systems and software development.

Candidate Must Have Requirements:

- BSEE with 5 plus years of automotive industry experience in microcontroller based embedded system design

- Expertise in the area of microcontroller software development for embedded systems

- Excellent design and debug skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Customer focused

Candidate Good to Have Requirements :

- Experience with 32-bit microcontrollers

- Safety systems experience, such as Airbag, ABS, Steering, etc.

- Understanding of ISO26262/ASIL standards and implementation with respect to microcontrollers and software 

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for microcontroller technical support regarding hardware, software and development tools.

- Develop software including peripheral driver code, demo SW, and test SW.

- Provide application support; SW/HW, module debug.

- Provide microcontroller technical/application support from design-in through end of production.

- Primary customer interface regarding assigned microcontroller families.

- Support Marketing Organization with design-in and promotion activities such as customer demos, trainings, competitive analysis, and design reviews.

- Assist Quality Organization to resolve production issues and determine root cause for field returns.

- Provide an effective communication link between European Organization and the customer
