 A Manufacturer of molded plastic electronic devices is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years in designing and developing next generation power control modules. This is a hands on, individual contributor position that requires strong technical skills as well as the ability to lead and drive the engineering team in all phases of numerous automotive applications. This is a family owned company that has experienced steady growth for many years, As the Senior Electrical Engineer you will be chartered to help continue growth by developing from conception to production world class power control modules.

This position is intended to have direct customer and supplier contact, managing all aspects of the hardware development within the cost and timing of the program from concept through production both internal and external to WDP.  Candidate will attend all customer based reviews, and monitor progress to ensure the Company will meet or exceed the customers’ requirements and expectations.  As a key member of the team this position will encompass customer requirements capture, electronic circuit design, worst case calculation and detailed tracking of revisions and customer driven change requests.  You will be working with engineering teams in several locations in Michigan, Europe, India and China.

Essential Functions:

  • Clearly communicate customer and program requirements.
  • Create detailed automotive circuit designs
  • Testing for individual circuits
  • Design for EMC for compliance and final approvals from customer.
  • Collaborate to create validation plan.
  • Create worst case calculation documents.
  • Control and Release products electrical BOM.
  • Coordinate suppliers to resolve component issues and drive initial component availability.
  • Detailed design change tracking and implementation.
  • Documentation of test results.
  • Launch and debug support at all vehicle builds.
  • Resolve build issues and customer complaints related to performance and quality.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical presentations.

Other requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen or have valid green card
  • Ability to create schematics
  • Experience in electronics design tools such as PADS,
  • Experience in electronics circuit development and design for automotive applications.
  • Understanding of the microcontroller based electronics circuits, smart FETs, analog and digital circuits within the Electronics control Unit (ECU)

DEGREE:  BS in Electrical Engineer or similar, MSEE preferred.

SALARY:  Base salary, plus Bonus and excellent benefits

TRAVEL:  Minimal travel locally in state
