Director of Sales
A World Class Manufacturer of Automotive Electronic sensing devices, who is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead its sales organization.
The qualified candidate will have 5 plus years’ experience in managing and leading a team of sales professionals that is selling electronic devices to the North American Automotive Electronics customer base and 10+ years of experience in automotive sales. The company is well known for its innovation and manufacturing capabilities in a global market.
The Director of Sales is responsible for all program management, marketing and sales activities for the North American market, and any other specific market which may be assigned. This includes selection and hiring of team members, achievement of all sales, pricing and A/R targets, operation within approved budgets, and general leadership of all sales and marketing activities. This candidate must have Automotive Electronics experience in order to add value to the team and company. This is a highly visible role within the company. In this position you will be chartered with growing sales, this is critical, as the company is poised to make it happen but needs the leader to get the job done. Complete understanding of all aspects of sales, contracts, terms and conditions, arrangements with OEM customers
Strong relations/contacts within OEM customers purchasing and engineering departments
Proven ability to drive business development activities
Experience with product strategy development and deployment with tangible results
Strong leadership skills
Hiring decision, Performance evaluations
Authorization for expenditures within approved budget, preparation of quotes, and approval of expense accounts
Managing the activities of direct reports which may include local sales representatives, account managers and internal sales support personnel
Establishing the strategic direction, priorities and leading the activities of the global account teams. Internal coordination of all account related activities including sales, marketing and new product/new business development
Ensuring that sales forecasts for current and future products are maintained to support manufacturing planning and the annual budget process
Formulate specific customer sales, pricing and product strategies
Responsible for managing and developing strategic alliances with key Tier 1 companies
Cost recovery of engineering design changes, VA/VE proposals
Obtain customer purchase orders for tooling, prototype samples and series production
Degree: BS in Engineering required
Travel: Able to travel by all transportation modes
Salary: Base plus bonus, company car allowance and benefits
