MECHANICAL ENGINEER SUPERVISOR

A leading global supplier of automotive products is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead a diverse group of engineers through a product design cycle for its Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) department.

Required experience includes:

8+ years of experience working in the mechanical engineering field in designing production-intent plastic and metal enclosures, and in leading the development of all related tooling. 

Understand engineering documentation to include Bills of Material, Blueprints, Dimensioning, DVP&R, FMEA, Product Releases, Product Specifications, Stack-ups/GD&T, Test Reports and Test Specifications.

Ability to complete unfinished products (i.e. specify hardware components, enclosure designs, brackets, etc.) while meeting all customer requirements.

A thorough understanding of packaging electronic modules to meet a variety of operating environments (i.e. dust, rain, humidity, temperature, shock, vibration, corrosion, altitude, etc.)

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; MBA preferred.

Duties include:

Provide leadership in the organization and mentor direct reports, provide accurate annual reviews and recommendations for areas needing improvement.

Review and rate individual project binders per the elements of the Mechanical Engineering Process.

Provide direct technical support to Customers, Purchasing , Sales and Marketing, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Production departments.

Lead quoting for internal and external products and create new part numbers as necessary using in-house format.

Travel:   Approx. 25%, mostly to Asia
